At Caskey Electrical, you may see us floating around your neighborhood, sometimes around town, sometimes in the middle of nowhere.

We subcontract to numerous metering companies throughout New Zealand to ensure that your meter is up to date and recording correctly, not overcharging or undercharging, 

We upgrade meters from the old legacy meters to the new Smart meters. 

We also add antennas and replace parts incase your meter is no longer sending a signal to the power company or is has become faulty

 

Why a smart meter?
Having a smart meter lets your power company to send you actual meter readings and eliminates estimate reading would could be extremely low or extremely high pricing estimates to your power bill at the end of the month
It allows you be in control of your power usage by being able to monitor your usage daily and you can compare previous days and see where you maybe using more power then usual

Thinking of solar?
You will need a smart meter to export back to the grid. The smart meter sends export readings back to the power companies to ensure that you are getting maximum credit for you solar exporting

Can i go back to a legacy meter?
in most cases, yes,
the power companies do charge a fee for this meter service and there are a few options so get in touch with your power company.
