Can you reuse and install a second hand disconnected heatpump? Yes, although we warn against this unless it was correctly disconnected and removed. It takes the same amount of time as a new one to install which we can gurantee and issues a warranty for. Old heatpumps are installed with no warranty and no responsibility from Caskey Electrical in the condition its supplied in. If its lost refrigeration due an incorrect decommision. If its damaged or was never working before being disconnected. We wouldnt recommend reusing an old, unknown condition heatpump, as it can become more costly if we have to reinstall with another unit due to problems
What brand of heatpump is the best? There is no correct way to answer this as there are many factors of an installation to consider. Mini split ,Ducted system, Floor mount, Cassete, Colours, support etc The #1 brand....comes down to the install. If its installed incorrectly e.g. not sized right, not pressure tested properly for leaks, kinks in pipe work etc a cheap of expensive brand will never work optimally or correctly from the start We have regular brands we specifically install as they have gained our trust in after sales service, quality, style, ease of install, and overall performance. We have specifically avoided cheaper brands due to after sales service which makes warranty claims extremely difficult and due to effiecntly of the unit. Some of the cheaper brands have more expensive running costs per hour, which is another factor in why we only install trusted brands
How often do I need to service my heatpump? If you clean your filters once a month, your heatpump should run effeiciently and effectively. If you have an older unit that has never been cleaned, we would recommend a deep clean using chemicals and specific HVAC washers which Caskey Electrical have. We recommend a deep clean once a year to ensure that everything runs smooth and no issues with the heatpump arise
Can one heatpump heat my enitre house? Usually not. Some customers of ours have been able to optimise there heatpump by double glazing and fully insulating there room which is a factor in heatpump sizing. Generally, the heatpump is only sized and works optimally in the room it is installed in. This is the operation of the heatpump as it is circuating the air, in a sense. Taking the cold or hot air in, and conditioning it back into the desired temperature. If wanting more then one room, sometimes increasing the size of the heatpump will help, but usually, more heatpumps would be needed or a ducted heated system which can cool and warm as well as keep a consistant temperaure through the entire house would be needed. The pricing can be quiet high for the system due to unit and labour costs
